The Beginning

Dorothy Healy and Eva McNicoll started the Nine in a line Creative Arts Society.

Nine in a line Creative Arts Society was incorporated as a society in February 2007. A call to all artists was made at a Garage Sale and an art show that was held on June 23rd, 2007 at Dorothy Healy's home. Matthew George was in charge of Communications and Web Design, Eva Mcnicoll was the Treasurer, Dorothy Healy was the role model. Dorothy Healy's 343granddaughter Megan Healy was the groups youngest member at age 14.

The group members used to meet at Dorothy's home for meetings and later moved their meeting to Scrapbook cafe. They held many membership drives calling painters, photographers and artists to join. Over the course of years they have held many art shows, strawberry tea, bake sale, photography contests, garden-art tours, harvest ARTumn gala, Halloween carving contest, Celebrity High Tea, Spock days, Alberta Art days and many more.

The Nine in a Line Creative Arts Society used to be in a vacant section of the Fashion Studio in Vulcan. They moved to the new Healy Heritage Art Center in fall of 2013.
